In early April, The Nonprofit Coordinating Committee of New York (NPCC) launched its first-ever Needs Assessment Survey. The survey is designed to help NPCC understand what more can be done for its members and for organizations sector-wide.

Closing the $ Gap

There have been many articles and headlines in the recent weeks about the challenges nonprofit organizations are facing to meet operating costs and close the widening financial gap. According to the report by the Human Services Council entitled New York Nonprofits in the Aftermath of FEGS, one of the reasons is:
"Government contracts and philanthropic grants rarely cover operating costs and payment is often late and unpredictable, resulting in cash flow obstacles and chronic underfunding.

The Nonprofit Coordinating Committee of New York has launched the revamped and streamlined application process for this year's Nonprofit Excellence Awards. NPCC offers a series of workshops available to member and nonmember nonprofit organizations to engage with and gain insight from past winners.

Disclosures to Donors

NYS Assembly introduced bill A-3394 which would require charities disclose to donors in writing after donation as to how their donation was allocated – what portion went to administration and what to programs. This was introduced last session and didn’t move; it is being introduced again.

As a leader in nonprofit management and capacity-building strategies, it’s vital that NPCC stay abreast of current trends and challenges that the nonprofit community faces.

2015 Nonprofit Excellence Awards Gold Prize Winner Raises over $700,000!

New York Common Pantry held its annual 'Fill The Bag' Benefit and raised a whopping $712,000. The funds raised will help feed an average 2,000 families every week this year.

Honorees at the special event included NYCP board memeber Sherrell Andrews and White & Case International Law Firm.
