Tell me about the organization and what you do.
Founded in 2021 in direct response to the pandemic, Safety Saints partners with nonprofits and local businesses to provide CPR, first aid, and other health and safety training. Safety Saints believes that everyone can build skills to prepare them for the unexpected, and we work with our nonprofit partners to ensure that training is affordable and accessible. Safety Saints can train your staff to meet emergencies with confidence, add valuable credentials to your workforce development program, and support your health outreach efforts in the communities you serve.

What population do you serve?
We partner with nonprofits to train their staff and participants in their programs. We also work with businesses and under-resourced community groups to ensure that everyone has access to training.
Where do you see your organization in the next five years or ten years?
As a relatively new nonprofit, Safety Saints is building partnerships across New York to ensure high-quality training in every community.
Simply put, we want every New Yorker to be trained in CPR and first aid response. Our goal is to partner with community organizations to provide training while also working to increase the number of certified trainers in every borough in the city, with a special focus on neighborhoods that are chronically under-resourced in training opportunities.
How has partnering with Nonprofit New York helped you succeed?
We love making connections with nonprofit partners that understand the needs of their unique communities. As a new nonprofit, Nonprofit New York's roadmap for nonprofit excellence has been an invaluable tool in thinking about all of the dimensions of our growing operation. And as a small nonprofit, it is extremely valuable to be a part of a larger force for advocacy and support.
What are you currently working on that you want us to mention to our membership?
We are getting a lot of requests for staff training this time of year. If your organization has CPR or first aid compliance requirements, now is the time to review your files and make sure everyone's two-year certifications are up to date.
And if you don't have requirements, think about the value of preparing your staff for an emergency situation. Our training can be both a fun and important opportunity to get your team together to learn skills that can help in an emergency in their own homes, their workplace, and their own community.
