What is your organization's mission?
Our business serves the needs of nonprofits, education and faith-based organizations with their complex real estate needs. We provide owner's representation and other real estate services throughout NYC.
What do you like the most about being a Nonprofit New York member?
We have only recently joined as a business member and are so impressed with the level of quality programming.
Have you read or listened to any sector or sub-sector-related publications, podcasts, or books that you would recommend to the community?
- Podcast: How I Built This Books: Difficult Conversations by Douglas Stone
- Mindset by Carol Dweck
- Emotional Agility by Susan David
- The Coaching Habit by Michael Bungay Stanier
Have you made relationships with other Nonprofit New York members? If so, what has come out of building those connections? If not, is there any organization you'd like to partner with?
Here's 2! Our team is diverse! 50% of our team was born and raised in South America (Colombia and Venezuela). 100% of our team likes South American food! Also, the name of our firm (Matter) is a double entendre! We called the firm Matter Real Estate because we want our work to matter, which to us means pursuing the projects that are meaningful. The name of our company also refers to the built environment and reflects our passion for design and construction.
