POSITION OVERVIEW

FPWA is building a national broad-based coalition of economic and social policy experts, labor and business leaders, community leaders and advocates, philanthropic leaders, and more to call for the adoption of a new, national True Cost of Living (TCL) measure that accounts for what families in America need to live, work, be housed, care for their health, provide for their loved ones and plan for the future.  

 

The Campaign Project Coordinator plays a pivotal role in managing key campaign activities, encompassing project management, delivering support for executing key priorities, and providing technical and administrative assistance. We seek a candidate with outstanding project management skills and a proven track record in supporting the successful delivery of campaigns, large projects, or programs. While relevant knowledge of the policy and political landscape is beneficial, it is not a mandatory requirement.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Management

  • In partnership with the Campaign Manager, assist in coordinating between FPWA, our campaign partners, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist in the coordination and facilitation of campaign leadership briefings, internal and external workgroups, including agenda creation, briefing materials development, setting and enforcing timelines, and tracking deliverables.
  • Support the development of a campaign workplan to achieve targeted goals.
  • Perform administrative duties as required (e.g., coordinating and setting up meetings and events, phone calls, note-taking etc.)
  • Assist in the selection and management of vendors and third-party contractors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Campaign and Policy Development

  • Assist in the identification and cultivation of potential third-party allies and key stakeholders into engaged and persuasive advocacy partners.
  • Partner in collaboration with member agencies, coalition partners, allied organizations, government representatives, and across FPWA’s outreach and program departments to promote and advance policy recommendations.
  • Engage in the development of strong and effective organizational relationships with key elected officials, government officials, and their staff.
  • Assist in development and direction the political organizing strategy to achieve policy demands.

 

KPI Development and Tracking

  • Assist in the creation and monitoring of key performance indicators related to campaign progress including engagement, communications, political outreach, research, and others.
  • Monitor strategic media and current events to stay engaged on relevant campaign news.
  • Develop and manage tools and strategies for recruiting advocates, identifying stakeholders, tracking engagement.
  • Serve as a crucial thought partner in planning and strategy development for the campaign.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, policy, urban planning, law, social work, business administration, public administration or related field. Graduate degree preferred. 
  • Exceptional project management skills required, preference to candidates with knowledge of project planning techniques, software, and skills.
  • Ability to present information and report progress and needs concisely and effectively—verbally and written, in both a public and internal setting is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; interacts with internal and external contacts with diplomacy, tact, professionalism, and discretion.
  • Firm understanding of the federal policy landscape both in the executive and legislative branch, preferred.
  • Deep commitment to social justice, policy advocacy and research; understanding of the needs of the communities that FPWA serves.

BENEFITS

  • Salary: This is a NYC-based role with a salary in the range of $57,500 to $70,000. This is a full-time, time-limited position. The continuation of this position will be determined by the on-going campaign needs and funding availability.

  • Ample Vacation Time: Four weeks of paid vacation accumulated during the year, plus 12 company holidays 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 
As part of building a culture where employs can do their best work, FPWA currently employs a hybrid model where employees are working from FPWA offices twice per week. We currently observe a company-wide remote day on Fridays. 

 

Work performed by this role is expected to happen in or near New York, NY given FPWA’s work policies and practices. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
